Julie Williams

I am a proud Aboriginal woman from Gamilaraay Nation however I was raised in Western Sydney and I have lived in the Mount Druitt community for the past 46 years.

I am a mother of 5 children and grandmother of 9 adorable grandchildren. Working with children has always been a passion of mine hence why I commenced as anemployee of Yenu Allowah Aboriginal Child & Family Centre (ACFC) in 2012.

In 2013, I successfully completed a traineeship with Yenu Allowah ACFC and I am proud to say I was the first Aboriginal trainee to complete a Certificate III in Children Services and since working with Yenu Allowah ACFC I have worked in many organisations within the community sector in Western Sydney including the Mount Druitt and Blacktown LGA

My professional portfolio consists of;

2012 – 2013 – Yenu Allowah Aboriginal Child & Family Centre – Educator
2013 – 2019 – Uniting – Early Start and Early Links Coordinator
2019 – Relationships Australia – Family Advisor
2019 – Yenu Allowah – Family Support worker
2019 – Uniting Ability Links – Early Links
2019 to current – Ngroo Education – Community Coordinator

I have been involved with Yenu Allowah ACFC for the past 8 years whether it be as an employee or as a Director and I can proudly say Yenu has changed to be more inviting and has so much potential and this is why I am a Director on the Governance committee to ensure my voice is heard for my family, myself and my community.

I can guarantee as a Director of Yenu Allowah Aboriginal Corporation I will continue act in the best interest of our children and families within our community.
